The Yiddish expression "nisht geshtoygn, nisht gefloygen" means a fiction, something made up. All the stories about animals and birds in this book were invented by Boris Sandler for his granddaughter, knowing that her curiosity will one day bring her to Yiddish. Warm feelings and a healthy curiosity have brought many grandchildren to their grandparents' language, to listen to and understand their stories.
This beautifully illustrated book also comes with an accompanying CD. Written in Yiddish and transliteration.
